Morning Report: 3.10.18

It is not quite morning but it has been a very long week.

Ed Miller of the Virginian-Pilot:

The best-case scenario for ODU, as it relates to C-USA, is for Middle Tennessee to sneak into the NCAA bracket and Western Kentucky to beat Marshall in the championship game and claim the auto bid. That would leave ODU as C-USA’s best NIT option.

Erik Bacharach of the DNJ:

The Blue Raiders, who rank 34th in the latest NCAA RPI, have a 12-1 record in true road games — tied for the most true road wins in the country — but are now on a two-game losing streak. They rank 49th in the latest BPI (a measure of team strength that is intended to be the best predictor of performance going forward), but are 0-3 against teams in the BPI top 50. They have two Quadrant 1 wins (which include away games vs. RPI teams ranked 1-75), but those came at Western Kentucky and at Murray State, neither of which is particularly striking.

Chris Vannini of The Athletic:

“If it’s something as simple as needing something printed, or the hardest things, he has a get-it-done attitude,” she said. “I know that comes from the work ethic sports instilled in us. Having someone like that in the organization is great. When you need things done, Ashton’s not going to talk much about it. It’s just. ‘What do we need? How do we get it done?’ ”
