Yesterday UTSA’s cannon was unveiled at Homecoming vs Louisiana Tech. It did not go well. The cannon was not well, a working cannon, but just a prop for the box in front of it to fire off the same smoke firework that the team does in pregame.
That means the box was the real noisemaker. No doubt by now you have seen the video but in case you have not. This was posted on the UTSA Alumni twitter, then subsequently deleted.

By the way, yes, this is the same firework technology that nearly blew up a football player on the entrance.

The offense is bad. The game operations is bad, and well, even the student section was struggling earlier this season.
At least the defense is good.
