Report: CUSA Teams Spending Good Money on Questionable Hotel Stays

FAU, UTSA, and North Texas are among the CUSA schools that spend just under $10K per night before home games on hotel stays. The practice is supposed to provide a little focus and protection against well, doing things that would be a distraction before football games.

The GHN report suggests that the programs may not be getting good return on the dollar.

[Econ professor Mark] Killingsworth said the large sum of money spent on hotels is “pretty hard to justify” when the football team has its own facilities on campus that could serve the same purpose.
