Early Returns: Marshall, Tech, WKU Pick Up Big Wins

Marshall’s Brendon Knox had 220 yards on the ground including the game-winning score on Friday over FAU. The win kept the Herd in the conversation, and was a welcome explosion of offense in a season that has been up-and-down.

Tech’s Amik Robertson grabbed three interceptions off of the four tossed by USM’s Jack Abraham in the game of the week. Southern Miss went to Ruston looking to stay undefeated in the league and take a stranglehold on the division. Instead, Tech did that, and their defense led the way. QB J’Mar Smith was incredible in spots.

WKU’s defense was burned early, but put the clamps on the Charlotte offense in the second half to get the team’s fourth league win. The Hilltoppers have been in close ones all season and this was that way early until they grinned their way to a win going away.

The league is still in mid action as we write this. It is an entertaining day in CUSA.
