2021 CUSA Week 7 Odds and Preview

The best tweet is twitter’s Circa Sports putting the week’s odds in readable form. I used to use Vegas Insider, which is still good and shows you everyone’s odds for the week. Circa is putting it nice and re-tweetable.

The Games

Marshall -12 at North Texas 69.5

The Herd are scoring 24 per game in conference play while NT is at 11.5. That is just about the 12-point spread. Maybe I can be a handicapper … The real question with any North Texas game is if the offense will show up and play. The defense is better than in 2020, but is only relatively so. That group was awful. Look for Marshall to get big yards on the ground and Wells to see at least one wide-ass open WR.

CR Pick: Marshall 31 UNT 17. That means Marshall and the under

UAB -14 at USM 42.5

UAB shut down a really good FAU offense easily. USM does not have that kind of firepower. This could get ugly fast, if it were not for the weird rivalry here.

CR Pick: Blazers 40 USM 6. That means UAB and the over

WKU -11 vs ODU 69.5

The Hilltoppers have the best offense in the league and ODU has competed hard every game.

CR Pick: WKU 55 ODU 34. That’s WKU and the over

Rice 55.5 at UTSA -15

UTSA is due for a little let down, but they play well enough to win even in a lull. Rice has played some tough competition but have not played them well. UTSA is obviously undefeated and hasn’t had the same level of challenge. This Rice team will play better defense than WKU but the offense is not nearly as explosive.

CR Pick: Rice 19 UTSA 27. That’s Rice and the Under

La Tech -7 at UTEP 56.5

Tech is good, but plays to their competition. UTEP is winning but ugly-style. I am mentally prepared to see UTEP win this with a weird fumble return while the clock his 0:00. I do not think that should happen but this is college football, Jake.

CR Pick: Tech 35 UTEP 25. That’s Tech and the under …barely.
