Old Dominion escaped Louisiana Tech’s upset bid thanks to some fortune (misfortune on the part of DaQuan Bracey) and some clutch shooting from senior guard Ahmad Caver.
UAB shut down UTSA in the second half, using some zone to frustrate a previously hot Jhivvan Jackson to pull off an upset over 4th ranked UTSA in the other quarterfinal game.
Finally, Western Kentucky handled business from the jump, pulling ahead of North Texas and keeping the lead throughout.
